Ontario SPCA Media Release

Chelmsford man charged with animal cruelty in case involving cattle and faces Dead Animal Disposal Act charge

SUDBURY, ON, (June 30, 2006) – Aurelien Marcotte of Chelmsford has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with causing unnecessary suffering, failing to provide suitable and adequate care and failing to provide suitable and adequate shelter for cattle. Marcotte has also been charged under the Dead Animal Disposal Act for failing to dispose of deceased cattle found in his barn within the mandatory 48-hour time period.

The Ontario SPCA executed Ontario SPCA Act and Criminal Code of Canada search warrants on the property following a number of caller complaints. The investigator and attending veterinarian found over thirty cattle living in a barn that was determined to be unsafe and unsanitary for the housing of any animals, and the attending veterinarian recommended that the building be condemned.

Aurelien Marcotte’s trial has been set for December 18, 2006 at the Ontario Court of Justice, Sudbury.

This man was in his 80's, the ospca should have offered him help in dealing with the situation. There senior insector likes to look like a hero, but sometimes a hero should assist in fixing the situation. Why would she want to distroy a human like she has done so many time.
