The People and Pets of Haiti

As most of you know, Haiti was dealt a very serious and unforuntate blow; suffering from the effects of a 7.0 earthquake on January 12th, 2010. They are now in need of help and assistance and anything that you can offer will help make a difference.

Below are just some of the reputable organizations that are accepting financial donations:

Also the Canadian Red Cross - and fyi, you will get an automatic tax reciept emailed to you when you donate online. 

Our agility instructor had a unique idea for raising funds that some of you may be able to replicate if you have a service you provide.

For one week the instructor told clients that if they donated the cost of one class to Haiti relief, they could show her the receipt and in exchange have one free class.   

This was a win/win situation because the client wasn't out a cent but got a tax receipt; the instructor was out income, but didn't have to shell out cash; and as an added benefit to Haiti, I believe almost everyone added a few extra $'s when they donated the cost of a class.

I thought I'd share this as food for thought for any of you that offer any kind of service.
