My name is Jack. I am from Canada and will be getting a Westie puppy in November 2010. I have never owned a dog so I am trying to prepare myself as much as I can hence why I have joined this forum. If anyone has good Westie tips or dog tips in general let me know. Thanks.  Cheesy

Hi Jack,
Welcome to the boards. I hope you like it here. That's great that you've given yourself so much time to prepare for your new family member.  My one big tip for you is to remember to have patience! Getting a puppy is like having a new baby, they never do or act like you want.... at first. Give the little guy (or girl) some time to get adjusted and to learn your rules of the house. What you put into them (time and effort) is what you get back.  If you put the time and effort into this new little guy, he'll reward you back big time by being a great new addition to your family!
